Installing Japanese Keyboard on English Windows 95 for Windows

1:It is necessary that you have the Japanese Windows 95.

2:Copy KBDJPA01.KBD from Japanese C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM folder
into the English C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM folder.

3:Make JKEYB.REG text file. This file has the following lines.

REGEDIT4
;
; Double click on this file from Explorer or File Manager
; to automatically install the values to the registry.
;
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\control\keyboard layouts\00000411]
"layout file"="kbdjpa01.kbd"
"layout text"="Japanese A01"

4:Install its contents into registry (double click on explorer).
This operation registers KBDJPA01.KBD.

5:From ControllPanel, Select the Keyboard and tab Language.

6:On the existing Language(US English), click Properties.

7:Select Japanese A01 from Layout Listbox.

8:Restart the computer.

Installing Japanese Keyboard on English Windows 95 for DOS prompt

1:It is necessary that you have the Japanese Windows 95.

2:Copy JKEYB.SYS and JKEYBRD.SYS from Japanese C:\WINDOWS folder
into the English C:\WINDOWS folder.

3:Insert the following line into C:\CONFIG.SYS file.

DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\JKEYB.SYS /106 C:\WINDOWS\JKEYBRD.SYS

4:Restart the computer.


Installing Japanese Keyboard on English Windows NT4.0 for Windows

Set up Japanese Font
Install 1,2,3 items.

Set up Keyboard Driver
Install 1 items.

Set up All(Japanese Font and Keyboard Driver and IME)
Install 1,2,3,4,5,6 items.


1:Install ServicePack.

1-1:Install Windows NT4.0 ServicePack 3.


2:Install Japanese Font.

2-1:In the Langpack folder on the Windows NT40 CD-ROM,
right-click JAPANESE.INF and then click INSTALL.


3:Install IE4

3-1:Install Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher.


4:Install Keybord Driver

4-1:Download jpkbnt4.zip and extract it.

4-2:Copy extract *.dll files from extract folder
into \WINNT\SYSTEM32.

4-3:Double click extract nt106kb.reg file on explorer.
This operation registers .dll.

4-4:From ControllPanel, Select the Keyboard and tab Input Locales.

4-5:On the existing Language(English[United States]), click Properties.

4-6:Select Japanese OADG 106/109 from Layout Listbox.

4-7:Select OK.

4-8:Select Apply.

4-9:Select OK.


5:Install GlobalIME

5-1:Download msjaime.exe and run it. This installs IME.

6:Input Japanese Characters

6-1:Input Japanese Characters works only IE4 and OutlookExpress.

1:Please set Japanese Windows Keybord Driver. That's all.

2:Make Short cut \WINNT\system32\cmd.exe on DeskTop and execute it.
